Peel Regional Police have issued a significant road closure advisory in Brampton following a tragic collision involving a motorcyclist on Sunday afternoon.
According to police reports shared on X (formerly Twitter), emergency response teams were swiftly dispatched to the scene of a collision between a car and a motorcycle. The incident occurred at the intersection of Hurontario Street and Wanless Drive around 2:50 p.m. on April 14.
While the driver of the car sustained no injuries and cooperated at the scene, the motorcyclist suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, despite medical efforts, the motorcyclist succumbed to their injuries later on.
In light of this accident, Peel police have announced a prolonged closure of the intersection and sections of Hurontario Street and Wanless Drive. This closure is anticipated to last well into the evening, allowing for a thorough investigation of the incident. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes to avoid delays and congestion in the affected area.
