Peel Regional Police are on the lookout for a suspect after a 56-year-old man was stabbed and robbed at a park in Brampton.

Police are currently searching for a man following a stabbing and robbery incident at a Brampton park on Friday afternoon (Feb. 23).

According to Peel Regional Police, the victim, a 56-year-old resident of Brampton, was involved in an altercation with the suspect at Duggan Park, located near Ken Whillans and Sproule drives, around 2 p.m.

During the altercation, the victim was robbed at knifepoint and sustained stab wounds. Emergency services rushed him to a trauma center for urgent medical attention. The suspect fled the scene.

Constable Richard Chin, a spokesperson for Peel police, confirmed on Sunday that the victim is now in stable condition.

Notably, there is no known prior connection between the victim and the suspect, as per police statements.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, standing between five feet nine inches to five feet ten inches tall, weighing approximately 170 pounds, with short buzz-cut hair. He was reportedly dressed in a dark jacket and light-colored track pants and was carrying a black backpack bearing the letters “JP,” according to police reports.
