Violent Altercation Leads to Charges in Alleged January Fatal Shooting

Three men from Brampton have been charged in connection with the alleged shooting death of another Brampton man earlier this year, according to Peel police.

The arrests came after an investigation into the killing of Tesean Alvarez, whom Peel police say was driving a vehicle in the area of Stokes Road in Brampton around 7 p.m. on Jan. 18.

“During this time, the victim and another occupant of the vehicle were involved in a violent altercation, resulting in gunfire being exchanged,” stated Peel police in a release announcing the arrests.

Alvarez was struck by gunfire and taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Following the January shooting, Peel police found Alvarez in a vehicle with gunshot wounds.

Investigators made several arrests related to the alleged shooting over two days.

On April 3, a 24-year-old Brampton man faced charges of two counts of attempted murder using a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, and discharge of a firearm with intent.

Police allege that at the time of the January shooting, the 24-year-old accused was on federal parole for firearm-related offenses.

On April 4, officers executed two search warrants at Brampton homes and arrested two more men.

A 21-year-old Brampton man has been charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon, and discharge of a firearm with intent.

Additionally, a 22-year-old Brampton man has been charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

All three accused individuals were held for bail hearings.
